Around the House

I don't know why, but having a clothesline is really important to me. I guess because my mom has always had one and I have especially good memories associated with it for some reason.

We have a regular one in our basement but don't have the room for it in our current backyard (still in the box). SO, Ed recently put one up that goes between the trees in our backyard. Last night was the first time I used it and it was awesome! Jeans that usually take a day and a half to dry on the drying rack, took 1 1/2 hours outside (it WAS really windy).

And here's our new kitchen curtains! I probably wouldn't have picked the material out by itself, but I think they go well with our red kitchen island/yellow walls and the brown and white polka dot curtains in our dining room.

9 Years

I can't believe Ed and I have been married 9 years! We celebrated last night by eating at Buca di Beppo - it was delish. (The last time we ate there was when Brady got baptized 5 years ago! I don't know why it had been so long.)

And then we went on a carriage ride. We usually do this in January when the Christmas lights are up, but it was really nice to do it last night when the weather was so nice too. Brett requested that the lights be turned on and said more than once "This is a really nice ride." He also said he wanted to take "Grasshopper" (the horse) to Grandpa's and ride him around Lebo :) And on our way back to the truck we heard . . . "I miss him. I miss Grasshopper!"

Field Trip

This morning I went with Brady's class (all 5 kindergarten classes were there) to Deanna Rose. With rain and loud thunder happening in the early morning, I was afraid we were going to get rained out but the sun came out and the weather was great!

Brady and Adrian thought the ram's (they loved to say RAM!) horns were very cool and kept touching them.

Sprouting!

How does your garden grow? :) I usually throw my zinnia seeds directly in the ground and have success, but not so much last year . . . .and since I want a lot of red/orange/yellow flowers now that our house is green, I picked out different seeds than I have in the past.

SO, I picked up one of these jiffy pots at Wal-Mart and thought I would experiment. So far so good! I'm so excited that our seeds are sprouting(within 3 days!). If the majority of the 72 sections grow healthy plants, the garden should be blooming with zinnias, marigolds, poppies, sunflowers this summer. Much cheaper than buying plants!!

the "Senior" years

According to the rabies vaccine notice we just received from the vet, the boyz are officially "senior" dogs (8 years + 7 = 56 years old!). Luckily, other than a lot of white hair, they aren't showing it yet.

With the great weather, they have been enjoying a lot of walks and I let them lay in the front yard while we're playing outside or working in the garden. (When I looked up and saw them laying spaced out like this, I had to take a quick pic - no posing was involved :)



Even though we bought the boyz when we lived in a duplex (that didn't allow animals!), it was one of the best decisions Ed and I have ever made. And thank goodness! Because I will never forget the look on my dad's face when we came home with TWO puppies, when we had just gone over to "look" at them and "find out more."

We have a lot of "brotherly" love (and fighting) at our house! :)

Easter

We had a very happy Easter. The weather was great for the church activites on Saturday in KC and in Lebo on Sunday.

It was nice that Sarah and I were able to split up since our kids were split into 2 age groups. I took Brett and Porter and she took Brady & Cameron for the egg hunt.

We were so happy that everyone was able to spend Easter together in Lebo - especially thankful this guy was home.
