Brett

3 years old is such a fun age - at least that's what I've been thinking recently (I'll let you know if it changes :)

Sunday afternoon Brett decided he was done swimming and striked this pose all by himself.

And last night (after daddy buzzed his hair, which is why he's just in his undies) he decided popping bubbles with his tongue was much better than using his hands.

I have had this "body" pillow in the back of my car since his birthday (was going to be a present) and decided it was time to make a pillow case for it so we could use it. Kind of selfish - I read stories to him at night (Ed reads to Brady) and wanted to have more "cushion" to lean against while reading. He was very excited that it was for him (and yes, now Brady wants one) and insisted on carrying it up to his room by himself.

As much as we read in bed, we might all have to have one of these. . . . .

Happy World Oceans Day

Living in Kansas, it's hard to feel like I can take real action to celebrate and conserve our oceans but I know we will try and educate our boys about topics like these as much as possible.

As a family, we watch many IMAX movies and especially love the ocean ones - so many amazing living things and since I'll never make it to the bottom (took scuba diving class on honeymoon and the idea of having that equipment on in water - claustrophic - almost killed me), I love to watch ocean movies (Point Break included :). My love of turtles and experiencing the great work the Turtle Hospital is doing in Marathon, FL, also made me realize how much people can help.

Well, Happy World Oceans Day to everyone! Here's a photography blog that has some great pics on it today.

Deanna Rose Bday Party

Brady attended Cameron's (friend and neighbor) 5th birthday party at Deanna Rose Saturday afternoon. After having cake/gifts/pinata, the kids walked across the park to the mining area. We have been to the park several times, but had never done the mining. It was very cool! Perfect for 5-year-olds who are always collecting "jewels and treasures."

Brady left with a cute little baggy full of "jewels" and a card so he can identify what kind they are. Thanks for inviting us to the part Lee's - Happy Bday Cameron!

As we were walking back through the park to see the animals, we ran into Dominic (classmate)and his mom/brother. They were very excited to see each other and had fun running around the flowerbeds/tractors together.

Monsters

Brady has never slept with a night light. Brett does, but Brady never did. However, he requested one last night. . . . . this entire week he's talked about monsters.

A couple nights ago I went up to check on him and found this - when I asked him the next morning why he put a stocking hat on while he slept it was because he was scared of monsters.

Yesterday he woke up and had vivid memories of his dream - that was all I heard about on the way to school and he said "I told my teacher and all of my friends about my dream too." I hope he's not scaring any kids at school!

So we turned on the closet light last night and I didn't hear anything about monsters this morning. Hopefully this phase just lasted a week!

Daredevil Dawgs

Games are in full swing now and Brady is loving it and improving so much.

So far he's played pitcher, outfield, catcher, second base and short stop. He made an awesome stop on second base last night and ran to get a player out - I was impressed!

After the games, the parents make a "tunnel" for the coach/kids to run through - very fun!

Warm Weekend

We started off the weekend by going to a TBones game Friday night - we couldn't pass up free tickets and dinner (thanks Surewest! they are a new cable company available in Merriam and were doing a promotion).

I think TBones games go faster than Royals games because they do fun things between every inning and the seats are really close. The boys enjoyed "dippin dots" and Brady got his picture taken with "Sizzle" (Brett said "he has horns" and slowly backed away :)

It officially felt like summer when we made it to the pool Saturday and Sunday!

They found some bugs in the wave pool and Brady spent time cleaning them out for Brett :)

End of day snow cones - aww, it feels like summer.
