BRR Fall Fest

Ed's firm always has a fun Halloween family activity. This year they had their Fall Fest at Old Shawnee Town. The boys didn't dress up (you could go either way), but they did go around to the old buildings and collect candy! They also enjoyed sliding on the big blowup slide, eating snacks and decorating pumpkins.

Halloween Jars

I thought these halloween jars were really cute and so easy, so I saved a spaghetti and salsa jar last week and ta-da! Halloween decorations I actually didn't have to buy a thing for. (I used orange scrapbook paint I had which is thicker than acrylic - acrylic would definitely be better for brighter pumpkins.) Oh well, they'll spook up our bathroom this season at least!

Taste Tested

My mom has a variation on this recipe - I think it's called "Oriental" instead of "Asian" and has a totally different taste. Love them both! Here's the one I just tried out of Kraft Foods magazine -

Security Cameras

We were grocery shopping in Wal-Mart last night and Brett spotted us in the TV security camera and said, "Mom, look! We're on TV!"

Brady's immediate response, "Duh! We're famous."

I thought this was so funny (and so typical of a 2nd grader? or should I say "MY" second grader :)

Family Night

At the end of September we had fun celebrating my dad's bday with a family cookout. It was a fun night and great to have everyone together to hang out.
