Thunderbird Soar

The Bluejacket Flint PTA organized a spring marathon/movie night fundraiser last Friday. I volunteered to stand along the path and direct cars off of the run route (to take pictures of Brady) and it was a lot of fun to see all of the runners pass by (around 100)!

Brady had already passed before I saw him so I made him come back for a picture - hello, that was why I was standing there! He was too fast for me. He thinks he came in around 11th - for the entire school, which he (we) were really proud of. It was nice to hear him say he ran the entire mile, but it was harder than he thought it would be. Way to go babe!

Finish Line!

Brett had a baseball game during the race, but he made it back for the movie - Tin Tin. They had a really fun time watching the movie with all of their friends at the school - there was popcorn EVERYWHERE. We're bad, but we were definitely glad we hadn't signed up to clean up :)

Woof Pies

We celebrated our 11th anniversary at Buca Di Beppo and got da boyz some treats from Three Dog Bakery before we headed home (Trevor hurt his leg Thursday night but is recooperating). I think they have had some crunchy treats from there before, but this time we opted for "Woof Pies" - they looked so good the boys thought they wanted to eat them!

Brady giving Trevor his - and it was quickly devoured.

Tanner was much more comical - always the slower eater, he ate his level by level and had a lot of tongue action (you can hear Brett talk about how Trevor ate his whole "off camera" in the video)

Go Dragons!

Brett had 2 baseball games this weekend and is having fun. Although most of the boys on his team are a year older, they will go to his new school so its great that he will already have some friends this fall.

Windblown

Our weekend consisted of Brady's baseball tournament (2 games Saturday, 2 games Sunday), Brady's soccer game and Brett's soccer game (Saturday), Brady's soccer practice and Brett's baseball practice (Sunday). Yep, we're windblown and ready to relax!

And most exciting of all - ha, ha! - is Brett agreed to join me when I got my haircut Thursday night. Brady got a trim from his dad today (and yep, there were tears), but he survived.

First Soccer Game

Brett's first soccer game was Saturday afternoon. Brady didn't play in this league when he was 5, so it was new to us. It's 3 on 3 (no goalie), 30 minutes of practice before the game and no refs - the coaches get to go out on the field and call out of bounds calls, etc. It was fun (low key). Brett had a great time and scored the first goal (his only goal) within 10.5 seconds of the game starting. Lions win 4-1!

And after our Shamrock Shakes (previous post), he came home and slept here for like 2-3 hours!

Lucky Day

We totally slept in this morning (exhausted and windows open are a great combo) and by the time we were ready to make breakfast, it was pretty much lunch time so I made this fruit rainbow (as seen on pinterest :) for them to snack on (while I made sloppy joes.)

I think I will try "making things" out of healthy food more often. Brett loves fruit, but Brady did eat more than he normally would.

And then after Brett's soccer game, we got Shamrock Shakes from McDonald's. (Have you seen the commercial? "You smell like mint!" - so funny)

And if you think the boys need haircuts every time you see a picture of them - THEY DO. Brady has cried the last 2 times I've taken him, so I've stopped. He wants long hair . . . and now his brother does too (go figure) so we'll see how long this lasts.

Soccer - beginning and ending

Brett - "Yeah! It's spring break, so it must be spring."
So glad we gained an extra hour of daylight this weekend. We needed that!

I planted a flower basket to celebrate :)

Friday night Brett started his soccer season and seemed to enjoy himself -

Saturday evening Brady ended his first "indoor" soccer season, which he loved. He played on a team (Goal Stompers) that he will play against this spring in the outdoor season, so those games should be interesting.

Outdoor soccer and baseball practices will be in full swing starting next weekend. Brady has been practicing indoors with his baseball team for a couple months now - I think they will be excited to move outside and get on the fields. Just a couple weeks until their first tournament!
