Halloween Hernia

That's right - our youngest started complaining of pain when he was walking right before we were going to go trick-or-treating around our neighborhood and when we noticed a little swelling on his right side I took him to Children's Mercy Urgent Care while Ed stayed home to hold down the fort and take Brady trick-or-treating.

The doctor said he had a hernia and pushed it back in - he has been fine ever since (knock on wood!). We visited our doctor Monday morning and scheduled an appointment with a pediatric surgeon for Nov. 12th. His surgery is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 17th. We are hoping he doesn't have any problems before then (it is not possible to stop him from rough housing with Brady) and hoping he recovers quickly.

Despite this happening Friday night, we did make it to Lawrence Saturday morning to tailgate and watch some of the KU/KSU game. The boys enjoyed playing on the hill while we were there - amazing weather.

And then we met Grandma and Grandpa Jones at the Corner Cafe and celebrated Randy's birthday.

I can't believe he has a hernia, and is so normal.... what are you going to do with a brick of chocolate?
